The new Chief Accountant of the Securities and Exchange Commission James Schnurr, is said to be deliberating whether the U.S. should move to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or stay with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and is set to eventually make a recommendation as to what course of action the country should take, according to the Wall Street Journal.
